Growing up, I spent a lot of time making forts, picking my own curtains, furniture, and customizing various elements in my magical bedroom with whatever materials were accessible to me. As a young artist growing up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, I had a strong connection to spaces and object as quiet observer.

In undergraduate, I studied Theater, Art, and Graphic Design at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. In the summers I created specialty props and sets for the Pamiro Opera Company and was the only college student who got a permit to work with the Local 1 Union crew at the Weidner Center for Performing Arts. After being accepted to Parsons School of Design for Graduate school, I moved to New York City and received an MFA in installation art plus a certificate in film production from The New School.

I began working in film and television as I was taken by the language required the environment to not only be viewed in wide vignettes, but also also the importance of the intimate close up details. My love of visual story telling has only grown over the years along with my skills and connections.

I feel lucky to have a career I am passionate about that involves telling visual stories and working with creative, intelligent film makers. I am currently a member of IATSE 52, IATSE 829, and a member of the Television Academy. Although I am based in New York City, I have experience in a number of other cities. I live in Chelsea with my husband Timothy Whidbee with our black cat Kiki. My previous experience as an art director and production designer gives me valuable insight into the people we decorators work closely with to create sets.
